Tiger Legacy Foundation Board of Directors

Harley Reckord, President
Harley was born and raised in Spokane, graduating from Lewis & Clark High School in 1966. He was a Certified Public Accountant for 32 years working for a large regional accounting firm based in Spokane where he spent 12 of those years as Chief Operating Officer of the Spokane office. His area of practice as a CPA was primarily in the audits of nonprofit organizations, including several foundations located in eastern Washington. Harley has served on the boards of Wampum, Greater Spokane Sports Association, Spokane Area Children’s Chorus, and LeMaster & Daniels PLLC accounting firm. He retired from public accounting in 2015 and enjoys travel, golf, and family activities.

Tim Bruya, Board Vice-President
Tim, LC class of '66 and a life-long resident of Spokane, loves the outdoors, especially fishing, scuba diving, hunting and boating. Tim was a respected physician with expertise in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, critical care, and medical research. Before being on the Tiger Legacy Foundation board, Tim was on the board of the American Cancer Society-Spokane, Goodwill Industries-Spokane, and involved in the development of the Spokane Symphony in the Park program. Tim's focus with the Tiger Legacy Foundation has been on developing corporate sponsorship relationships and pursuing major gift donations.

Jenny Rose, Board Secretary
Jenny graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1973, and has a Masters Degree in Education. In addition to being a long-time teacher with the Spokane Public Schools, she has served as the President of the Spokane Education Association. She is currently Chair of the Spokane Police Ombudsman Commission and Vice-President of the Northwest Association of the Mothers of Multiples Club.

Gary Teale, Board Treasurer & Corporation Registered Agent
After graduating from Lewis & Clark High School in 1966, Gary attended the University of Washington. Throughout the 70's, he was active in community organizing, worked with the Puyallup Indian Tribe on fishing rights, and helped establish the Fremont Women's Health Clinic. In the 1980's he began a 25 year working relationship with the Catholic Archdiocese of Seattle as a parish administrator, teacher and school principal. In 2006, he and his wife, Ann, traveled to Guatemala where they spent 12 years working to support education in rural indigenous villages. He has served on multiple international non-profit boards. In addition to his work with the Tiger Legacy Foundation he has been most recently on the Board of the Spokane Baseball Umpires Association.

Patty Marinos, Development Committee Chair & Annual Appeal Coordinator
Patty graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1978, and is a lifelong supporter of Spokane’s sports and Spokane Public Schools. She currently serves as the Board President for Highland Park United Methodist Church and contributes her passion for local history as a member of the Historic Trent Alley Project. Patty is an End of Life Doula deeply committed to serving in the sacred space of end of life. She believes that establishing and maintaining positive relationships is a key to a happy and meaningful life.

Diane Alfano, Events Coordinator, Alumni Outreach Coordinator
Diane has been a dynamic organizer of alumni events ever since she graduated from Lewis & Clark in 1966. She has embraced life-long learning as an elementary school teacher from 1970 through 1992, a middle school math teacher from 1992 through 2003, and supervisor of student teachers at Arizona State University from 2003 to 2005. She has also been a Math Trainer for Pearson Publishing, 2001-2021, a Workshop Presenter at annual NW Math Conferences, 1987-1995, and a Math Trainer with the Spokane School District and Eastern Washington University. Diane currently works as a Realtor with DPR Realty, and splits her time between her home in Arizona in the winter and Spokane and North Idaho in the summer.
